I just looked at the "two papers" - thanks. I've already read Per Bak and Prigogine - about 20 years ago. Hameroff does not emphazie dipoles as "bits in a computer" rather Hameroff emphasizes it's a Musical resonance process. See Roger Penrose's recent Science of Consciousness talks for more details on the music "analogy" (it's actually quite literal).

Actually Roger Penrose uses the term "Negative Resonance" - it's the same as what Jack calls "Back Reaction" - only the "negative resonance" is a quantum undertone. Penrose is more specific.

The way I see the hard problem is protonium monoatomic hydrogen based meta material of chromium and or osmium. So a nuclear condensation of isotopes thereof which would vertex collapse and deionize electron metallic protonium hydrogen. Perhaps looking into metallic glasses using zirconium, osmium, chromium might be helpful? Likely the largest isotope transmutation goes towards a highly transparent zirconium position emitter. Pumping protonium hydrogen with positrons would exhibit reflectivity mechanisms. Nuetrino Longitudinal, Phonon Superluminal, and Vertex Cold Plasma?
