In Multivariate Linear Regression, we have an input matrix X rather than a vector. This is the general form of Linear Regression. If we understand Univariate Linear Regression, we won't have problem understanding this general case which is the extension of Univariate Linear Regression.

isn't this known as "multiple regression" and not "multivariate"? When there are multiple independent input features and one dependent variable, then the corresponding model is termed as "multiple regression model" and when there are multiple dependent output variables, the corresponding model is called "multivariate regression model"...Is this right???
