Hey pilots! Tricker here and I want to welcome you to my channel on combat aviation. I'm a real world pilot in the Airbus 319/320/321 series and I enjoy DCS World, Falcon BMS, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, X-plane 11, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

If you want to fly WWII aircraft over Normandy and the English Channel, then DCS World WWII is for you and they have plenty of aircraft to choose from such as the BF-109, FW-190, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, and P-51 Mustang. If you enjoy modern aerial combat then you want to focus more on DCS World products such as the F-16, A-10C Warthog, AH-64D Apache, F-15, F-14, JF-17, SU-27, Mirage, Mig-29, F-18 Hornet, Mi-8, Mi-24 Hind, Uh-1 Huey, Ka-50, F-5, Mig-21, AV-8b Harrier, and the F-4 Phantom. Some of the mods that are out there for DCS World are the F-22 Raptor, SU-57, A-4 Skyhawk, Rafale, and Gripen.

I enjoy other games such as Total War, Battlefield, War Thunder, Escape from Tarkov, as well as Squad.

I did point out the wrong switch for IFF on the right wall; it’s actually the switch to the left of the RWR. Had to reupload from an audio glitch; sorry about that! Thanks for all the continued support! 💪

thank you so much for this seriously it's so much easier watching your content than a 15 paragraph long guide that I have to download

Mig-21ergonomics: switches go, where wires end.
I find the bit where you show the differences to auto start really useful.

I watched your 60 second startup and got the jet up and running so I really appreciate it but this one was a huge help to see your mappings and stuff. These videos are priceless for a new player the in game tutorials are good but not as easy to learn from imo

Is there a command to tell the ground crew to pour vodka to the fuel tank during start up?

I suggest to also bind IFF interrogate and when possible some of the radar filters and low level modes.
Good tutorial. The MiG-21 start-up seems intimidating but can be done really fast and with some practice some steps even during taxi as the jet doesn't have to wait for alignment. Setting up RSBN/VOR before take-off is also helpful.

I believe with auto-start the IFF switch doesn't also turn on, which needs to be attended to especially for multiplayer.
(For those who dont know, it's what makes you able to see who's friendly on your radar when interrogating/if you're friendly or not to others... I can't remember entirely either.)
You missed it I think in the auto-start section, which your comment highlights but doesn't completely clarify.

I like playing around with the cockpit of the 21 more than I like flying it.

Nice, how can you click the buttons and switches in the cockpit. I get the interaction mode thing on but I can't actually click the buttons and move switches, so what is the binding for that?

The radio and the flight rec should be turned on prior to engine start, right after DC gen and fire ext. Otherwise it will be almost impossible to investigate if something went wrong. You also need radio to request permission to startup. Turning on AC gen prior to engine start is wrong. Correct procedure requires to turn AC gen on AFTER the engine is started and idling at least at 35% RPM (1). Arming gun on the ground is very unsafe and useless action, generally not recommended - gun barrels are pointing right at the nose gear anyway )

I now know how to steal a MiG, if I ever get shot down in a former Soviet bloc country and want to escape

If I may make a suggestion. I think it would help to remember the startup/operating if we knew what each acronym stood for and the reasoning for the order of sequence.

Like for example, to start the AAVP7A1 (also applies to AAVC7A1 & AAVR7A1). Before startup steps, check all fluid levels in engine, transmission, and suspension (fill any level that is low) [Do not attempt to start/operate if fluids are missing] {If vehicle is not to be moved, suspension fluids are irrelevant for startup and running of vehicle}. Flip the main batteries switch to On position (this switch turns on/turns off electrical for the whole vehicle). Make sure that you are showing enough battery power on the main gauge panel (if not, you will have to jump start using the slave cables and another vehicle with sufficient power) [also take the opportunity to check the fuel level {fuel gauge may not be accurate and the best way to determine fuel is to check operating log book for rough estimate}]. Pull the fuel lever all the way up (the fuel pump is electric and won't work without the main batteries switch in the On position {You will be able to hear them when working}). Determine what mode the vehicle is in by looking at the switch setting, immediately followed by looking at the plennum indicator (if the indicator is up, you are not in land mode {trust plennum indicator over switch position}) If the vehicle is any position except land, hold down the bow plane handle all the way down or the ramp handle all the way in the direction that the ramp currently is located (holding the bow plane handle down or ramp handle routes hydraulic pressure away from the hydraulic bilge pumps) [if the hydraulic bilge pumps functions after startup, you may get unwanted POLs spilled outside your vehicle, that were previously in the belly of your track *This is a dangerous HAZMAT situation that can be avoided*]. Press the ignition button for the amount of time it takes to start your track (normally takes 2-5 seconds [Do not exceed 10 seconds in a single start] {If vehicle doesn't start, double check your steps and retry}). Your vehicle should be started (if vehicle doesn't start after steps have been verified and a third attempt, contact a mechanic from Maintainance Platoon for assistance) [take a moment to admire the sound of the 903 cubic inch turbo diesel]. If vehicle was in any position but land, switch to land (once plennum indicators have decended, you can let go of the handle (ramp or bow plane) you were holding. Allow vehicle to come up to operating temperatures (if possible) before operation (30 minutes at idle or 10-15 minutes by holding accelerator to 1500 rpm on tachometer) [If accelerating engine, look at the muffler and view the clouds of black exhaust gases. Give double middle fingers to Mother Nature]. OORAH YAT-YAS
