Hi everyone! With the cold war plane set gaining some more popularity, I finally got around to posting a video I've been wanting to do for quite a while.

These are just my own opinions, and things that work for me in game, but there is of course more then one way to fly the MiG-21Bis.

Enjoy!!

The engine restart switch should be turned off instantly once your engine is relit. It uses a reserve O2 tank (you can see its pressure to your back left on the wall) and each relight only uses a little bit of it. That said it will keep dumping that o2 tank if you do not turn that switch back off. Hope that helps.

The front right reference card also has all the Caucasus RSBN channels listed, if you can read the Cyrillic alphabet. Saves opening the kneeboard on Caucasus.

I haven’t been playing DCS currently, nor do I own the MiG-21bis module, but this was still a very entertaining video! I really hope you make more of these for other modules.

Thanks for this. Amazing:)
Just got started with the mig21 and wish I had seen this earlier! Everything I painfully figured out myself you covered clearly and concisely.

I personally prefer the single sets as well, but I love using the r3r and just adjust to the odd weights when firing them. My go to has been 2X r60 and 2X r3r and 1 center tank (size depending on mission), using the radar missiles seems to take a lot of people by surprise. When I use the radar missiles I use radar to get visual, then shut down close in get radar back and lock them firing the missile as soon as possible.

Great vid. Thanks for the tips. Never seen anyone say you can fly the MiG at low speed with the flaps like that. Bit of a game changer.

The gyro sight is meant to be used against large non maneuvering targets. (Mostly bomber intercepts)

Can I suggest using a de-esser filter in your editing software, your S's are so spicy. This video was super helpful thanks

Lotta helpful information in here, appreciate it cause there is not much useful info out there about dogfighting in the fishbed. Although I did throw up a little when you said the F5 gun was better at 16:40 xD the 21's gun is a sub-moa laserbeam best gun in cold war kekw

I played the Mig-21bis in 2 EU cold war server and I couldn't use the radio at any server. The briefing sad use the channel 0 for the ATC Kutaisi and use channel 5 for the EWR. And I never had concatct with any on them! I don't understand why.

Yo dude. Thanks heaps for the video. However, I'm stuck on your wording of flaps. Currently in the settings, I can't see take off flaps anywhere. It has degrees of flaps and flaps down and flaps up. What setting is this take off flaps?

"The Mig is the best low speed fighter in the Cold War server."
Interesting. I thought I read where the Soviets captured an F-5 Tiger and through their testing found the F-5 was superior in slow-low dogfights.

Isn't using the flaps now above certain speed bleeds hydraulic pressure?
