Not enough. I work at a tourist heavy area and after the European tourists bus leaves the unflushed urinals are full of pee that is so concentrated that it’s often a dark orange/ brown color.

If you go into a tesco or Aldi they have 1 litre and 500ml bottles just like in the us. Actually most places in Europe sell them it honestly just seems like you are in a touristy area because most stores sell them for a 1 maybe 2£/€. Beer is more common but our beer is significantly lower in alcohol percentages compared to the us its basically water. Sorry you got scammed

If you drink water like that you are just going to pee a lot of it out. You hydrate yourself much better having just a mouthful at a time but doing that more regularly.
You act like there’s some crazy societal difference that you’re highlighting but really you’re just asking a dumbass question. Most europeans drink tap water and because that’s free they often carry a big bottle in the car or simply drink at home, not actually requiring much water through the day to stay healthy
