In this video, we take a look at the rumors of Bioware's impending closure, following the departure of Dragon Age The Veilguard Game Director, Corinne Busch. As of right now, there are two competing narratives from Smash JT / Grummz and Jeff Grubb. One side says Bioware will be shut down by EA in February and the other side says there are no plans to close the studio right now.

Dan made more money roasting Veilguard than the game did with its own sales.😂

I have spent thousands of hours playing Bioware RPGs. I am in physical pain at the idea that they ruined the company.

The BioWare I loved died a while ago, I'm ok with this imposter closing down.

I'd much prefer that they shut down rather than ruin ME4.

All the important people like Casey Hudson are gone. Judging by Andromeda and Veilguard, Bioware is Bioware in name only. Unless a miracle happens with the next Mass Effect, they are already dead.

So… you’re telling me I got fascinated and engaged with a game series and then waited 10 years only for the studio making the series close?
Love that for me.

It's so sad man. In the 90s and even as late as the early 2010s if you saw "BioWare" on the box you knew you were getting a superior video game. All good things must come to an end I guess.

As far as I'm concerned DAV isn't canon. I'd rather believe its a book written by Varric, 'Tweaked out in Tevinter' . Not his best work really, but I cut him slack because he's so handsome.

As bleak as it sounds... You reap what you sow.

If EA shuts down BioWare It would be smart to sell the mass effect and dragon age IPs to Larian!

Hope another studio or older DA devs get the rights for Dragon Age Dreadwolf and release it for the fans.

Its over Dan, its like trying to revisit your high school. Its was fun for a time years ago. The people you knew are gone, the fun you had there is over. Good riddance to Bioware and let their closure be a message to rest of these AAA studios: You can and most likely *will* be next. FAFO.

I don't think they'll close Bioware yet. They'll let them get Mass Effect 5 out first and see how that goes. If that fails to meet expectations then they're done since that and Dragon Age are the only things they have left. That being said Bioware is only Bioware in name only at this point.

Busch got politely fired because HE is a good-for-nothing!

This video reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: “I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Let’s just say that after waiting a decade for DA4 only to be spat on by “The Veilguard, ” I’m going to read BioWare’s inevitable obituary with GREAT pleasure. :)

November was a really rough month for me last year. When I learned about what happened to Thedas in DATV, and all of the wider lore that just got thrown out of the window, it helped tip me into a mental breakdown that took me weeks to recover from. That may sound like a lot just because of a video game, but Dragon Age Origins was my first ever RPG, and I found it when I was at a really bad time in my life. That game basically saved my life in my early 20s, and reignited my love for gaming, and what video games could be in terms of crafting stories and characters that can resonate with the player.

I can forgive or overlook DATV for a lot; the wonky story, the weak characters, the lack of choices and very Pixar-esque design and tone. What I really can't forgive is it throwing all of the previous games out of the window, and saying "Yeah, all of those games you spent hours and hours playing, got invested in, and were looking forward to coherent sequels that carried on a lot of those themes and plot ideas? Forget them, we've got NEW and BETTER lore for you to sink your teeth into!!"

Then you realise you bit down onto a stone, and now it's broken your teeth.

I would rather Bioware shut down forever than make more derivative slop like this that spits in the face of their previous and much better games, since the people who made those games are gone, and will never be able to come back to the studio.

I honestly ready for Michael Gamble's tweet with "deepest regrets" etc.
