Run from the bougainvillea! They have long needle-like thorns that even penetrate jeans and sweaters and the tips can break off under your skin. My mother planted a bunch along a back fence and I absolutely hated having to trim them. No matter how careful you are, you still will get pricked and have red sores all over.
