It has been 2 years I have cx30 (2022 GS -Canada) as daily drivers and it is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I have 52K on it and no issue

Just purchased one for my youngest. I’m a ford guy but I’m really impressed with his decision on the CX-30 (with the help of Dad’s money of course:) excellent review and I feel great about his choice now even more than when we picked up his 2025 yesterday Dec 31st 2024.

The CX 30 looks really good in that dark blue color with the dark wheels!

One must remember the rear seats are for the non-paying customers who should feel privileged just to be in your presence let alone riding with you. This vehicle would be perfect for me and my 41 pound pug. She just lost a pound last week. Check the picture.

You guys are the best. Thank you for all their information. I highly recommend your site. It helped when I bought a car.

Easily one of the best buys if you're sticking with the lowest trim. The select sport trim is okay if you can get it under MSRP. Immediately loses its value advantage once you hit the preferred trim. Better off just going for the CX-5 at that point.

We have a 24 CX 5 that we like very much and I'm thinking about the CX 30 but don't know about the rear suspension. The 30 would be gorgeous without the cladding. The body lines are every bit as beautiful as the 5 . Hope Mazda doesn't change the 5 too much in the next generation. Just make it better.

Been a lotta years since owned a well powered small car. Had a great little 6cyl Beamer in Germany. What a rocket! Had a so fun to drive little wedge shaped Volkswagen Scirroco. Since those days been Jeeps, trucks, and a great Honda Accord Coupe. Maybe it’s time to give small and fun a try again!

Lowest trim has no heated mirror...which is kinda important in Canada...2nd lowest trim cost the same as a Ford escape...*sign

I really like the CX-30 but the huge plastic cladding around the wheel wells lowers the overall look. If Mazda could just reduce the width to about 1 1/2 - 2 inches I think that would attract more buyers.

Never get white interior. I have a 2018 CX5 with white interior and the seats are destroyed from regular wear & tear.

If space is not a big concern this is the best you can get in the class in my opinion in terms of style, premiumness, quality and power. This something Mazda knows how to do best. This definitely a class above in terms of material use and it looks aesthetically pleasing which isn’t a given in all vehicles in this segment.

The Mazda CX-30 is a sleek crossover SUV with a stylish design and a smooth ride. It's a great choice if you're looking for a mix of comfort and performance.

Great review and good timing as my brother is considering one of these or the CX-5. Solid vehicle that has always been a great competitor in the auto market! Thanks guys! 👍

No, you shouldn't, at least not if you plan on having people over 5'8" in the back seats routinely. Frankly, it seems to me that a Mazda 3 Hatchback will have nearly the same functionality and be more fun to drive, while the CX-5/CX-50 siblings make for better "Sport UTILITY Vehicles", just by virtue of being able to tote two adults in the back seat.

On the other hand, if adults in the back seat are NOT a consideration, and the Utility/higher stance component is a BIG consideration, then yeah, this wee crossover rocks. I would be considering it were it not for the adults in the back seat.

Nice review.
Does the 2.5NA engine have Cylinder Deactivation (CDA)? If so, can it be disabled

My first time to see you guys and one of your reviews. I appreciate the detail and statistics and your insights. I am big on comparisons to get a perspective and I note your efforts in comparing this vehicle to others in its class. However, since the title implied a specific comparison to be able to choose between the CX-30 and the CX-5, I would have liked to have seen some more comments about that also. That is specifically the decision I am in the process of making - more than the CX-30 against its direct peer group. This did help me, but also the comments with so many stating that they would personally prefer the CX-5 even as they were impressed with the CX-30.

I have a 2021 turbo. It’s been great. My 2 complaints are it’s small on the inside and it only gets 26.5mpg at 80mph. Otherwise, I love the torque, handling and the quiet interior.

My wife bought a new 2024 CX-30 GT Turbo. We live north of Quebec city and wanted an engine block heater installed. For months I was told that is was out of stock but lately was told that Mazda no longer recommends this accessory, saying the engine does not require it. At -25'C, I do not accept this explanation. Do you know why Mazda Canada came to this decision?
