To everyone upset she killed Skippy... Don't select 'stone cold killer' mode when he asks you first.
If you pick 'puppy lovin pacifist' mode first, he will default to 'stone cold killer' after a time, and lock himself there. Iirc, Regina only kills the Skippy personality if he's locked into 'go for the kneecaps!' mode lol.
Otherwise, keep him.

They up this motif at least one other time in the game - with Brendon the vending machine. You find yourself so convinced he is sentient and intelligent. The only difference with Brendon is, if you try to "save" him because you think he's a real, conscious, sentient being, he'll tell you flat out he's just a really convincing algorithm. With Skippy you'll never know. And CDPR wants you to think about the concept of what it truly means to exist, to be sentient and self-aware. And I love those concepts.

The whole Skippy situation really sucks. Why did Skippy has to be a gun for your weapons wall. You always have to choose between an unfinished mission or an empty spot on your wall. Either Skippy should be replaced by another gun like the Kongou or so, or the mission should also be completlet if you decide to keep Skippy.
