Often, smaller items are looked over by new builders looking to make a name for themselves because they are looking for "that one build" that they can sell for a ton of money. They aren't considering the cost of the build and the time spent making it. Ultimately any business comes down to profit margins. I'll give you a few examples of how selling items that anyone can afford can generate crazy sales with minimal cost of goods sold!

I’ve made almost $500 on the planter boxes in just under a week. Just did it for fun to see if they would sell in my area and they semi took off. I have 6 more orders to build currently.

Re: Fear of Failure… if you’re anything like me, you find it really tough to take. But know that failure is necessary to some degree. It took me 4 tries to get a single desk that looked good. That’s 4 desk builds. 4. Whole. Desks. I didn’t give up. I learned from each build, and I was looking forward to number 5 when I stopped — mostly because I didn’t need another desk! 😂

Seriously, though, it’s the failures that push me forward, to learn, to be better, and to do better work. Don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid to quit because you did.

A lot of us buy the plans just to support you even though we either don't need them or can build the thing without the plans.

I've done the window frames before. However, I added a simple silhouette of either an animal or something like an evergreen tree, paint it black then added it to each frame. Made them both with & without silhouettes. The ones with silhouettes sell 25% better in my area.

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this. My 64 year old husband is currently building our 3 log cabins homestead from the wood on our property here in East Tn..The first one is just beautiful...I have to tell him about this. Don't think small projects like this have crossed his mind...but he would enjoy this..and it would keep me out of Hobby Lobby...a little..lolol

That is something people might not realize, that they vary in thicknesses.

I made something very similar to that long farm house box a few years ago out of one end of a pallet, I use it to put whiskey bottles in, just cut above the notch on the side rail and add a piece on the bottom so simple, it's already distressed, stain or I burnt mine, look cool and had a lot of compliments on it.

I made that long shelf from old pallets, the curved ends are already on the pallet boards, just cut the ends if the pallet board, sand enough so there are not splinters and the patina remains. Excellent wine bottle holder

I loved woodworking when I was in highschool, and am looking to get back in to it.
This video, and the other "Make Money" projects are great to watch, and see where to start. Even if I don't necessarily make money off them at first!

Long time fan! My father-in-law is starting his own woodworking shop from your inspiration and videos.

A challenge we have is to see How much money can you/your kids can make from 1) a single pallet & 2) From a single 8' fence picket panel section.

Hobby Lobby shopper here! I actually have that last one hanging over my mantle. Thank you so much for making this video! it gave me a new prospective on those super cute things that I want but don't want to spend what they're asking. I'm going to give it a shot just making them for myself and possibly Christmas presents. Also, side note- Hobby Lobby always doubles the price that most people pay as they have rotating sales every month. So that last one was $75, but I paid $37.50 +tax. Still too much, but I definitely bought it!!
