Using cbrt of 8 to solve for x^3=8 feels like using L'Hôpital for the limit sin(x)/x as x tends to 0

my guy, this was not "how exciting". This was so satisfying i think it qualifies as AMSR content with your relaxing voice. Except i hate ASMR so its a bad comparison. Either way all that cancelling was satisfying.

Heyy Andy, While you are rooting 16, why not substitute +-4

Here's a little preprocessing to get a simpler cubic: divide the whole thing by a, then substitute for x k= x-b/3. Now the formula will be much easier because a=1 and b=0!

When you reached the point where you had square root of d/2 squared, why didn’t you simplify further and say that the square and square root would cancel each other?

Like the quadratic formula gives us both solutions (as it has the ±, ensuring we get both solutions), why didnt this formula give us 3 solutions? (Correct me if im wrong but i think the equation x³=8 should have 3 solutions, namely 2, 2w and 2w², where w is omega or the cube root of unity)

you left out the two other soloutions: -1 + i√3 and -1 - i√3
