Yes, the Wii cable works. The cable I used here was the Wii cable I bought used at GameStop.

the wii u (and switch in docked mode) requires 15v
the normal wii requires 12v
the different connectors are to prevent overvoltage (on a wii with wiiu adapter) or undervoltage (on a wiiu with wii adapter) to my knowledge

The AV cables for the Wii works with the Wii U. You can set the Wii U to display as not HD.

HDMI is by far the best video source to use as of right now I think. My sister and bro in law didnt notice a difference on their xbox 360 when it came to using the component VS HDMI but I did. HDMI was brighter and more vivid in color.

Yes. The cable I demonstrated here is from the Wii and it works on the Wii U.

Please see my Wii U unboxing cable. The AC adapter for both the gamepad and Wii U are rated for 120v. Japan is 110, Europe is 220-240. So it's really up to you if you want to ship this abroad. You can always get an AC converter.

Does the wii u come with component cables. (Red and white for audio) (red, blue, green for the hd) or does that come separate?

I broke the controller port cover on the other side and didn't want to show it on camera.

The AC power adapter is bigger because the Wii U needs more power from the adapter.

I recorded some gameplay yesterday using my Hauppauge HD PVR2. It wasn't able to record audio over HDMI so that's why I went out and purchased the Wii component cable.

What strange is that the orange and red is off when I use the component cable. Gamestop only had used cables so I don't know if I happen to buy a bad cable.

Either case, the recordings came out fine.

I showed the TV resolutions settings in one of my Wii U videos. I think it was just 480p.

If your TV is HD, then you can still use the component cables as apposed to HDMI. I demonstrated that in this video. The graphics with component looks very good, still HD quality.

I don't have the ac adapter for my Wii so I just jammed the one for my Wii u in and surprisingly it worked

It dont suck the power cord doesnt fit. There 2 different systems with some of the features. New system new stuff

I am still missing a few feature games. I need to ask for Pikman 3, Wii Fit U, Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, and Tekken.

I was reading the letter from Nintendo on what I can and can't do. I think I can make gameplay videos now. But, I will leave it to other folks to make gameplay or walkthrough videos.
I mean, everyone can buy it Saturday so there's no reason for me to rush it. I want to give my viewers a first look at what's coming out soon.

I was concerned about the Wii U being able to output 720p through the Wii Component cable so I emailed nintendo and they assured me it would work. Now all I have to do is unhook my Wii and use the same component cable and sensor bar and use my old AV wii cables to do the system transfer. Great video and it's nice to actually see it working.
