In this clip, I tell the story of how Grace Slick (from Jefferson Airplane) received an invitation to join the Nixon family for a tea luncheon at the White House in April 1970. She accepted the invite and showed up with a notorious '60s radical as her guest, as well as a pocket full of LSD.

This is a clip from the Jefferson Airplane / Hot Tuna episode of podcast, "Play That Rock'n'Roll". Full episode here:

Classic! Of course a few years later during Watergate I'm sure someone passed him a small amount of acid when he was walking around the White House carrying on conversations with portraits of past presidents

loved your clip. love Airplane. i personally don't think Grace would've went through with dosing the president otherwise she wouldn't have brought Abbie Hoffman as her escort - he was a definite reason to turn her away. i just think being invited to the White House was too good of a chance for Grace to pass up, but she had absolutely no intention of spending the rest of her career in prison.
