Strength - Definitely should've gone to Vash, bro has taken and traded blows with Knives.
IQ - Definitely should've gone to Vash. He has the intelligence to figure out Demon's Eye in 30 seconds while having no prior experience with it, he even has an understanding of quantum mechanics because he's a plant, he just acts goofy. Not to mention his black hole and sub-space bullets that he makes himself.
Skill - There's no way they both got this dude. Vash can not only fight with his eyes closed, but can dodge pointblank fully automatic gunfire, can accurately count how many bullets were shot by 30 different guys all with pistols, shotguns and machine guns, AND he was able to sneak behind an enemy that was already shooting at him, take their hands and force them to shoot a perfect portrait of his face into a boulder.
Intelligence - Already covered this, Vash should've gotten this no problem.
Agility - I'm starting to doubt you've ever watched or read Trigun because Vash takes this no contest. Yea they both move fast but only one of them has a speed thats immeasurable (it's Vash). Literally, theres a part in the manga where people are attempting to track his speed and it goes off the charts and back to 0 in a split second.
Weapons - Yea, you definitely haven't watched or read Trigun. Angel Arm, Machine Gun Arm AND the AGL Arms .45 all outclass any weapon that Spike has. Hell, the Angel Arm alone has more firepower than Spike has ever seen.

All in all, Vash negs no doubt about it, Angel Arm takes care of everything. Even without it, Vash is smarter, faster, stronger and more durable.

Listen both protags are excellent, but Vash is literally classified as an act of God. He's so unintentionally overpowered that even in the anime (both'em apply since they both don't show his full capability) there's only his moral code keeping him from destroying planet gunsmoke. Spike is excellent for a human dont get me wrong, but you've effectively put a tiger against a nuclear bomb
