Sony. That image processing is only equaled by Panasonic’s high-end TVs. The Korean and Chinese manufacturers have always seemed a bit off when it comes to natural colors. It’s subjective, I know, but I’d always go for the Japanese brands.

Apparently the controller for the sony crystal led only accept dual displayport 1.2 signal. This is quite specific for computer output, and might not work well with hdmi 2.1 sources (receivers, bd players, etc.)

I'm looking forward to when they're economically viable replacements for commercial theater projectors

MicroLED is the future.
But currently... it's not quite on the level of mainstream high-end in terms of features, affordability and even size. I'm all for a 75 inch MicroLED... maybe 85 inch max, but that would be really pushing the limits of would still make for a good viewing experience in my living room.

You're doing a great job with those loops!

As for the TV, I think 8K is totally useless, even at large screen sizes like that, because you'd have to stand quite far away from the screen for it to be a comfortable viewing distance, and at that distance you aren't even going to be seeing a full 4K worth of detail.

For a 220" screen, you'd need to be closer than 15 feet away to see more than 4K worth of detail, and be honest, who is going to be sitting that close to a screen that large?

(not to mention the lack of content)

The main use case for these is probably stadiums and concert venues where people are going to be several hundreds of feet away. I don’t see a problem with either, and I bet custom graphics (like scores and team logos) rendered at 8k would look insane on the LG

That LG screen is a million dollars on Amazon.

The SONY is clearly superior. The very FACT that LG has to prevent people from getting too close just says it all 🤣🤣🤣🤣
