Wear glasses/protective goggles when removing the screen so glass doesn't jump up in your eye. Also were the glass is broke apply tape over it so it doesn't go everywhere. Use eye glass cloth to clean the screen, not a rag. I also did mine using heated up rice in a bag wrapped with a cloth. Heat gun is not necessary.

taping the screen first is better than have to picked up pieces of broken glass & safer. Also, if you take your time more at the beginning and heat up evenly along the edges the glass will come of more easily and evenly + less chance of breakage. I know because I did it.

i replaced my screen on my ipad 3. but in the process i think i messed up the wifi cable and now my home botton doesnt work. do you have a seggestion?

why is my ipad to the other side?? my cable is right guy
