Whatever its drawbacks, idgaf. As long as it won't be appealing to car thieves, I'm sold.

They have issues with early rusting. Its not zinc coated to prevent rusting.

Considering the price, if you in the market for a Chinese bakkie give the JAC T9 a try.Starting at R549k.Descent standard tech.

The front looks decent but the back is a bit of a let down. Price wise in my opinion at almost R800K is high and not justifiable to over look a very low mileage pre-owned tried and tested Hilux or DMax if comparing between those bakkies.

The rear styling for me is a let down... that black styling part is completely unnecessary. Feels tacked on. Its like wearing googles

I like it. I wonder if the communication between engin and gearbox is good. I have driven good Chinese cars where the gearbox can get confused as to what gear to be in.

Impressive power and torque figures. What is the clearance on this model and how does it pull? I assume with those figures, overtaking is a breeze. I hope it doesn’t suffer from the preverbal turbo lag most diesel engines suffer from.

A Toyota's depreciation is minute, the Isuzu and Ford not to far off. At that price of R790k with major depreciation when selling or trading - you going to wish you rather went the Japanese route - who's service department and part available is far superior. Goedkoop koop is duur koop.

Sorry but your facts arent correct, the new Dmax does well under 10l per 100km. I own 1 as well.

That fuel consumption is really good for a big DC vehicle 😳

I was inquisitive I will be honest as a Hilux owner but 790k is a bit rich for it to be boxing in the ring with the holy trinity.

Go drive any Ford with a 2 litre bi turbo and you will get consumption below 10 as well.

At that price point I would rather buy an Isuzu, it’s not how this vehicle looks and drives now the question is will it last….?

That doesn't change the fact that it is not build here in SA, only if it was build here
