If I ever had a car that was 2 years old with 55K on it and the engine blew up, I would f*ing come unglued if they did not honor their warranty. They would not get any sleep for at least a year.

“Don’t buy it in the first place!” Great advice for many things purchased at Christmas time.

I used to own a 2000 Hyundai Accent. I bought it in 2004, and got rid of it in 2010. I replaced it with a 2007 Toyota Matrix, and it has been the best car I ever had. I still own the 2007 Toyota Matrix, but I am looking at getting a 2019 Honda HRV or 2018/2019 Toyota CHR in the next year or so. I would never buy another Hyundai myself after all the problems I had with the 2000 Hyundai Accent i owned. Thanks again for the advice Scotty!

Never buy a Kia or Hyundai again. The company doesn't stand behind their products. Buy a Toyota or Lexus they last.
Merry Christmas Scotty. Hope your enjoying the snow today.

Kia/Hyundai has a lawsuit for blown engines. Take it to another dealer and report the engine blowing. You should have received a letter about it.

Scottie covered two makes, Hyundai and Nissan that I have owned. The Nissan with the 6 cylinder engine and cvt was a nightmare. When the chain startled to rattle at10yrs/74k I ditched it for the Hyundai 4cyl and not an ounce of problems in 7yrs/90k. So much so that I bought a 2019 with a 4cyl which now has 12k. All three got the same treatment in care and were female driven. I going to agree with Scottie on Nissan, but hold off judgement on the Hyundai for now. Btw, my daily driver is a 2000 Camry with 165K. Scottie recommended.

I've had three Hyundais with no problems since I began driving. 2005 Elantra with 130, 000 miles (she was totaled in an accident), 2005 Sonata with 190, 000 and still running, and a 2017 Elantra with 93, 000 miles and no problems. It really depends on if you keep a strict maintenance schedule and how rough the vehicle is driven. Love my Toyotas and Hyundais....

Merry Christmas Scotty. I recently had to replace my daily driver, a 2005 Durango Limited. Having watched the channel for awhile was inspired to find something more reliable and fuel efficient. Picked up a 1995 Toyota Camry LE 3.0 V6 automatic. 25 year old car with only 133, 400 original kilometers. The engine bay was spotless, absolutely no rust on her and other than needing a properly fitted passenger door mirror the car is pretty near mint. Total cost $1700 Canadian and tax. Just drove it a 1000 kilometers to see my daughter for Christmas and it purred through the costal rockies without a hitch. My second Toyota ever. I had a 1997 Corolla GTS Hatchback for awhile when I was a younger more reckless man. I think you're right, a well maintained older Toyota is unstoppable. Now to find a decent 4runner or Sequoia so I can still enjoy the areas of my Home Province of British Columbia the Camry won't take me. Thanks a bunch scotty, an honest actual mechanic is pretty rare these days.

You need a shirt that says, " I'm normally aspirated and people love me."

A local mechanic told me that he gets practically new Hyundais and Kias in with bad motors. The dealers won't fix them, so he replaces the motors.

Thank goodness Scotty said 'Normally' aspirated. Same here. Yes!
