Lego Connections that were abandoned

I really love those old connections, but they stress out the pieces BAD!

I really miss the old hinge studs. Especially that one used to the car roof. I used that for a lot of stuff as a kid

I had that yellow plane as a kid and the joint is even worse, because it's so stiff that if you wanted to open the roof often times you would pull off the entire hinge. The clamping power of the anti studs of the 1×4 hinge was weaker than the resistance of the hinge

And that's why I'm glad I held onto so many of my old bricks. Sure, the new stuff is stronger, but the older blends into builds better especially when I need a smooth moving joint instead of a ratchet that takes up twice as much space.

The old hinges were not as loose as they seem, it really took a while until they became wobbly.

I just keep collecting old hinge bricks, I absolutely love that connection even if it was weak, just holds so much nostalgia in my heart

Actually that 'in between' studs connection was very strong.

I'm pretty sure Lego didn't update most parts with zigzag connection, they just abandoned them.
