North Carolina Forecast: Low humidity with plenty of sunshine Wednesday, weekend rain likely

Wednesday will be cool and sunny with low humidity and temperatures in the low 80s. You may need to grab a light jacket as you head out the door Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be in the 60s Wednesday morning but will climb into the 80s by the afternoon. Wednesday is going to be dry and warm -- the perfect day to get outside and go for a hike. Thursday will also be comfortable with temperatures in the 80s. "We'll see these pleasant conditions persist all week long," said WRAL Meteorologist Peta Sheerwood. The weather will stay quiet for the next several days, with a few more clouds around Thursday. Friday will be much cooler with a high of only 80 degrees. There's also a 30% chance for rain on Friday.

The weekend is looking to be a bit wet and windy. A coastal low is tracking towards the area and it could bring rain and strong winds on Friday and Saturday. The rain could stick around into early Sunday morning.

Pockets of heavy rain, high rip current risk and rough surf will be possible along the NC coast.
