The second one if fucking stupid and the last one 30% cut is reasonable argument

the 1st is hilarious while epic games is making contracts that prevent devs from selling their games on other marketplaces at all. the 2nd one is obviously stupid. the 3rd one doesnt really work because while 30% is really high its the industry standard and theyre not charging more than anyone else

Steam is literally the only way to play games on PC. The only "competition" is epic games, which has done scummy marketing tactics in the past like doing timed exclusive and also has a shitty UI, and XBOX, which is just a restricted Steam store.

Ohhh yea. Humble Indy bundle got pissed at Valve because humble was trying to abuse Valve's key system, and Valve told them to cut it out.

1st is stupid, let me explain:
Valve gives you infinite free steam keys for your game and allows you to sell these on rival platforms and charges you ZERO COMISSION ON THESE SALES!!!
As a result they require you do not sell for LESS than you are selling for on steam.
Valve and Steam treat their devs amazingly well.
For example: if you make over $1, 000 in sales they RETURN THE INITIAL GAME RELEASE FEE TO YOU
They give you 2 free goes at getting your game shown to ONE MILLION STEAM USERS who are interested in similar games to try help you gain traction
They send out notifications to EVERYONE who wishlisted your game when you put it on sale above a certain percentage (20% i think)

All of these things make sense honestly. I don't know what she's talking about. And also, she doesn't look like she plays anything on Steam... I could be wrong, but she has no business complaining...

1. Epic does it too with scummy timed releases.

2. It’s more on customer service and refunds. It made more sense to do this.

3. 30% is standard practice.

She should sue Valve for not releasing HL3 yet and she’ll get the support she needs.

Funny how people who claim to be capitalists are okay with these blatantly anti-capitalist policies.

It`s like a "Yes, you`re an author, but why we can`t buy your products cheaper from different authors, instead of only from you? Share your author rights!".

And she call herself a Digital Rights Activist? We`re not living in communism.

Then how is it that steams prices are cheaper than everyone else’s

1. Gog has cheaper games and better deals so thats a complete bs

2. Then sue epic, xbox, sony, nintendo,
since you cant buy dlc from other platform for the game you have on another platform

3. Might as well sue all companies in the world since 30% is the maximum commission that you are allowed to earn by law. And no look at steam it has the same price as any other games on xbx/sony/nintendo, they have regional pricing so some games are cheaper for some

Why not suing epic, they are the ones who tries to monopolize by buying up games to make them exclusive to their store

I’m sorry but SONY & APPLE charges 30% as well 😂 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ it’s like the common % practice until a law is in place. We still haven’t heard about Microsoft how much they charge maybe it’s 20% or less but if it was 30% it would of been heard of like Sony 😂
Honestly what really triggers me is the set price so we are stuck with the best sales on steam only.

I think we can all do without UK gamers sharing our servers.

This is why I like to see games exclusively on other platforms such as GoG or Humble Bundle Store, that way the developer is getting a better deal and cutting Steam out. Steam are essentially the Apple of the Apple vs Epic Games facade.
