The Stefan Boltzmann Law - A Level Physics

Instead of referring to brightness, astrophysicists tend to look at a star's luminosity. Stefan Boltzmann law tells us that luminosity is dependent on a star's surface temperature and its surface area.

Thank you so much for this.
Very clear and easier to understand.

Thank you for this. Some people teach others that the area is just area (πr²), it should be the surface area of the sphere (4πr²) so it really got me confused.

Hi❤.

My memory took a nap lasting maybe forty years and YOUR VIDEO is helping a total recall.

I thank you😂🎉❤

My God that background music/noise was so annoying. I couldn't manage to get to the end of the video!

There is always a mix between the equation presented in this video and the one that is in other areas, where they talk about how the radiant emittance(or something) is directly proportional to the surface temperature. What's the difference, and which one is the real one?

The Stefan-Boltzmann constant and law is valid for ideal, so-called "black bodies." This video seems to assume it applies equally to all stars. is that a valid assumption? Based on my long-ago physics classes I think that stars may have emissivity close to a black body's 100% but not exactly. Please correct me if I am in error and exlpain why.

Why is the temperature to the power of 4

Instead of saying Stefan Boltzmann constant every time it’s used consider just saying sigma
