They deserve every penny if not more! So brave! No way could I ever do that! I’d be doubled over with anxiety! They are one of the hero’s we don’t hear about!

Happened that 4 welders got sucked into oil pipeline, cause company didn't payed attention that the welders are still in the chamber. So greedy for money they just did open the chamber to the pipe and the divers got sucked within seconds through the pipe down to ground of the ocean only one diver made his way out of the pipe again.
In other case at high pressure living chamber which are made that underwater welders can stay longer in the depths welding. When a diver tried to close the hatch between the chamber system and the passage, there was an explosive drop in chamber pressure from nine atmospheres to one atmosphere within a fraction of a second. An assistant and all four divers were killed instantly; another assistant was seriously injured and died later in the hospital. the one directly next to the door got sucked at the explosive pressure release, directly through the wee opening from the door died instantly ending up as Human mash the others from the decompression, imagine a pressuredrop of 9 atmospheres. Compressed nitrogen The previously compressed, now expanded nitrogen must have literally boiled the blood of the divers at once, torn the veins and inflated the bodies at the drop in pressure. Making them look like explode, blown up, bleeding out of the eyes and skin

25k per month?- how about 25k per week.
All of the money bags that own these rigs and make out big need to be required to go down with them once a year

My brother was a saturation diver on oil rigs. Lots of money but scary as hell. They would work at night over 500ft below the surface.Other than the lights they used they had no clue what was 50 ft away watching them.Think about that

Knew a guy that worked the platform for quite a while he was not an under water welder but was a heavy duty plumber on the plat form. He told me a few horror stories that happened no pay on earth would be worth. Stay safe. Cheers. 😮

My hats🧢 off to those guys! Irregardless of the salary, I don't think I could ever attempt having that as a career.

I’m not sure if this is actually true but I knew a welder and he said life expectancy for a under water welder is 10 years in the profession 😳

I wish they'd stop using this song on any video of the ocean.
It was cool the first time, now it's just annoying

I used to do this in the Gulf of Mexico. There is not much demand in that region any more due to the industry shifting inland. Fracking made the offshore work not worth the added expense and time.

You couldn't pay me any amount of money. Respect to these very rare workers.

They use foreigners from 3rd world countries. So when there is a fatality it costs the company much less. I got that straight from an American guy that did this in the China see. He said if an American dies they pay out millions. And if a coworker from the Philippines died the payout way tens of thousands.
