25,000 $ Per Month Job at North Sea. Would you like this job ? Being an underwater welder is no easy task. It's extremely difficult to jump from surface welding to underwater welding

The job pays is very good. The money means nothing if you cannot enjoy the fruits of your labor. The job is extremely dangerous. Anything can happen in a moments notice. In the military a diver position was always available and offered very high bonuses. You have got to be smart to pass the tough training to become.

the reason it's so dangerous is because they have the air tanks on their backs and if somehow the heat from the welding get close enough it can explode, and also if there's an emergency and they need to go up very fast they can get the bends and develop air bubbles in their blood and brain. usually there are deep underwater compartments for minor decompression emergencies like that but they cannot deal with very serious accidents

I’m going to welding school in Houston Texas in October. I eventually want to become a certified underwater welder

My friend did that and he’s now bored and changing to emergency guys that jump out of a helicopter 🚁 in the water to save people.
That will be insane. I warned him not to go Rambo

I think dry welding are the most dangerous. Slight mistake and you ends up like byford dolphin.
Where as the wet welding, you limited to maybe 10-20m max, not as deadly.

I would definitely and certainly do it. No hesitation whatsoever. I mean it. If Only I was given a chance to apply

Gee, I wonder why there’s a shortage? The deeper the dive, more problems, even for experienced professionals. To have both of these skills ( diving and welding underwater) is quite impressive.

it's really super hard to get certified for this work which is actually why there is shortages of labor in the field. Also, until you get a fair amount of experience, there isn't consistent paychecks or work.
