Another Controversial Phone? - NEW Google Pixel 9a

Midrange phones used to be boring, but the Google Pixel 9a here is the second controversial midrange phone launching this month and I have some thoughts on it. Actually, in a lot of ways, this is quite similar to the iPhone 16e.

No Camera Bar is a great thing. Don’t know why people keep saying that it’s a Negative… Camera Bumps are outrageous to begin with… I think I’ll go with this one since Apple and Samsung are getting boring to me now!

I think mostly YouTubers, that get phones to review for free, care about the materials a phone is made of. As a phone is such an expensive piece of tech, not putting a case on it is a big risk that most people are not willing to take.

I absolutely hate glass backs and I'm upgrading from a 4a, because of it's battery issue, so a flat camera housing is ideal. I'm sold already, it's the perfect 4a replacement.

In this era where there are too much camera bumps, pixel 9a did a great job with the camera setup, loved the minimalistic design

I LOVE that it has no camera bump. Phones have gotten thicker and heavier over the last few years. I'm glad to see the more streamlined design!

I like removing the camera bump. I would also guess that most people use cases and don't care if the back is glass or plastic.

The camera is awesome, many of us HATE the visor slab, its ugly and uncomfortable. The 9A nails the classic Pixel vibe, 4Xl was my all time fave!

You said that the fingerprint reader is ultrasonic as a bad thing? Samsungs and the Pixel 9/9 Pro all have ultrasonic, and it rocks. Do you mean optical?
