Honda rebel 500 owner, turned it into a club style bike and I love it. I hear the phrase beginner bike used often and I would say it’s more than just that. Easy to maintain, style, and enjoy the ride.

I opted for a Honda Shadow 1100. Nothing against the Rebel overall. I am aware Rebel makes an 1100 as well but I can't do a Parallel Twin on a Cruiser. Gotta be V-Twin, which the Shadow has. I have a '94, so it has the 4 Speed. Nice long gears and less shifting. So relaxing and smooth to Ride and I have that amazing V-Twin Sound.

Honda VTX 1300 or 1800 You can find for about 4 to 5 grand is an excellent cruiser and forgiving for a beginner.

I own a Honda Rebel 500. I have to say for my first bike it is great. I love the riding position and it makes it easy to maneuver around the city. Not too powerful that it gets away from me and not too heavy. I have enjoyed every second of it so far.

Ride my 2011 Suzuki Boulevard C50T whenever I can, changed up the pipes and bars to fit my style but all in all love the bike.

Got my Vulcan 650 this past August. Perfect bike for a new rider, and gets up to highway speeds comfortably. Serves me well even on longer road trips. No regrets.
