On an unconnected point, what concerns do you have about the EPC rating requirements for buildings being increased to level C soon?
Is this a real problem?

Hi Jamie, you’ve mentioned you initially like a 2 year fixed whilst doing up property then a 5 year fixed but how many years do you get a buy to let mortgage on originally e.g. do you got 20 year or 35 year and what’s the reasoning behind the length?

Currently building a BTL portfolio in my name as I'm basic rate payer. Our family would like to move in the future. If I continue to buy BTL will this affect my chances at getting a higher residential mortgage? Or is it fine as long as the rental income covers way over 130%?

Jamie..am I right in thinking some mortgage brokers get paid by the chosen lender, and some would charge a fee to me (the borrower)?? Obviously the broker being paid by the lender would be the most attractive option..right?
