Integer Addition and Subtraction Properties (Math for Teachers)

Math for Teachers video that explains the properties of integer addition and subtraction. We explain how integer addition has all of the properties of whole number addition. Integer addition also has an additional property called the additive inverse property, which we explain as well. We also discuss how integer subtraction does not have many of the same properties. These properties of integer addition and subtraction are common topics that may be found in math for teachers and foundations of mathematics courses.
