This is a full Combat Test for the solar ships to see if they have any flaws in their design, this test will be conducted with a alpha vector, a exotic Guppy and a solar ship. This is a test for visibility and combat based off the new design of the solar ships.

This test is without auto aim as auto aim is combat on rails and not really classed as combat. Combat takes skill, auto aim does not.

I think the best and easiest fix for this would be that the sails auto retract in during combat as they do in low atmosphere. Sails should be out when driving normal or warping. Where the sails would be more logically used anyway

A toggle function for sails and retracting pods would be even better

Necro on the thread but can’t resist. There’s a huge hemisphere right in the center of your cockpit in first person called a RADAR that shows where your enemies are at all times. Perhaps it is because I spent so many years in Elite Dangerous that this isn’t an issue at all.

ive recently started playing nms but i came from elite dangerous, and in ED ships are a lot heavier and slower to move, especially if ur against a fighter, so you have to learn to use the map in the centre of the dash. I have been using a solar ship for the last 50 hours and never realised that it covers the sides in combat cuz i use map until they are in front of me, but now that u mention it, that takes up a ludicrous amount of vision for the sails

The sails and engines could shrink, and move farther apart in first person. The view in cockpit, doesn't seem to make sense with how far apart, and far away they are from a 3rd person perspective.

I think it’s more of the ships design. Wing choice matters. The grapple and razor wings have the best side visibility if you really are concerned about that. I use auto aim to target tho so not a big deal for me. It would be really nice to see the sail have a manually retract button when you want that feel would help a lot for the most part.

To be fair your right the damage is less, I never use first person only to find coordinates did you know on xbox we can pull left trigger and ship will track target works great

With all due respect. You are wrong. The sales only retract in atmosphere. And a solar ship functions very well as a fighter.

They should have the ship going into battle or flight mode or the cockpit hydraulics forward past the sails

There’s a auto aim button, there’s no reason to worry about aiming

The ship combat is a little frustrating for me because it's a little annoying to track the enemy ships but I think its just me

This is the exact reason why i dont fly with Solar ship .. it just takes like 2/3 of the screen ... i mean i have one S Class fully pimped out, but still fly with the litle Egg Exotic.. thinking about to do fighter for my everyday fly, but not sure how his jumping ability will be
