Despite recent economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa, the region continues to suffer from high poverty and developmental challenges. These challenges are only compounded by persistent gender power imbalances that limit women's economic participation and empowerment. Gallup and Porticus have partnered to release “Gender Power in Africa: Analysis of the Imbalances That Shape Women's Lives,” a new report synthesizing recent World Poll data with scholarly and policy research on gender equality in Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
