I will never put my money on anything from Bhavesh's companies. Shady practices, bad customer support and over promise underdelivering.

The only reason I bought Ather over Ola 2 years back was REALIABILITY.

Even after driving 18k kms..the only parts replaced are brake pads.. that's it.

Everytime you full throttle it on highway, you can feel the fit & finish of the product.
Ola was 20k cheaper but still went with Ather and since then no regrets.

Proud ather owner 😎

Look, no bullshit. I completed one year with Ather and it costed me 1.75 lacs.

After 1 year, if I was asked to pay 2.5 lacs, I would have paid it. Because please know the "headache" also has some value.

I had ZERO headache with the Ather in the last one year. Heck, I haven't even needed to service it even once.

Also, Ather ride feels so much more sturdier than any other scooter. There were times I could have met in an accident, but the ride, build and handling quality of the scooter saved me.

I once made a call to a support agent and I got the help in 2 mins. Kudos!

In short, Ather has got it's shit together. Period.

EDIT:
Ride mode for plain road riding single.
Sports mode for high speed, doubles and uphill.
Do this to get the best mileage.
Don't ride in Eco mode thinking it will give you more mileage 🙂

So, here’s the deal: I rode my Ola scooter for 12, 000 kms, dealing with a bunch of software bugs along the way, but nothing too serious. Then, out of nowhere, the suspension gave out, and I had to get it replaced.

What followed was a wild goose chase—I was sent from one service center to another, visiting five or six of them just to drop off the scooter. It took them a whole week to finally fix it.

Now, I can honestly say, Ola is terrible in pretty much every way!

EV companies should come together and bring a uniform charging standard. This will solve a lot of issues and doubts a consumer have when buying EV vehicles for the first time. Particularly, for those who live in small rented where the owners don't allow them charge.

I did extensive research and decided to go with Ather or TVS. Then Ola announced big discount and 8 years battery warrenty for their gen2 bikes. Didn't think much, booked one. Big mistake. The brand new scooter didn't start during RTO registration, they don't have spares to fix. It's been 6 months, no delivery, no refund, no response from customer care even for a legal notice. I booked the scooter as a birthday gift for my wife. Now think about my situation.Bhash is a fraud, deceiving gullible people in the name of nationalism. Beware of Ola. Run away for better mental peace. Not everyone have time and energy to approch consumer court.

I bought an ev scooter as well back in Dec 2021, it's called Pure EV Etrance Neo. It promised a range of 120 kms in Eco mode (mode 1) and top speed of 60kmph in the most powerful mode (mode 3). I used it primarily for commute from home to work and back. To my surprise it gave me a range of 125kms on 2 occasions with the ride varying between all 3 modes. In March or May 2022, within 3-5 months of purchase, the scooter shut off abruptly whilst a 40ft container truck was being overtaken (having done only about 40 kms after full charge). I reported the service centre and received a replacement battery after a few days.
Little did I know it was just the beginning of an utterly hectic and annoying ownership experience.
Fast forward to July 2023 (not that the period I skipped was trouble free but I don't have the energy to type as there were plenty lots including BMS issue, some Faraday unit replacement, etc), one fine morning at 7am I set out for work and inside 15kms the scooter shut off. Informed the ASC and I tell you they are a set of pretty funny and humorous people. They picked the call up at 10am and asked me to bring the scooter to the ASC, 13kms away, so they could check for the issue; funny isn't it. After checking they said it's some issue with the battery and it's common with most of their scooters these days and strangely as soon as it's put on charge again it starts working for another 10-15kms. So they asked to carry the charger with me wherever I go so I could charge it if need be.. pretty funny eh😂

They sent the battery to their factory in Hyderabad and several months later, in December I guess, I get a call from the factory saying my battery is fixed and have to pay Rs 20k for the battery or they have a battery exchange offer running in which I could pay Rs 20k and get the new battery.. funny again ehh😂. All this for a battery (less than 2 yrs old) that already had 3 yrs of warranty+ additional 2yrs that I paid for. When asked about the warranty they say "the warranty is void as I hadn't serviced the scooter on time as per their service records". "Hold hold..I don't know about your records but I have a service records book in which your dealer certifies that I have completed every single service on time. So, whatever is being done to my battery I want them all covered under warranty and I'm not paying your company another penny".

Here I am now in August 2024 waiting for a favorable judgement from the Consumer Court after filing a case in Feb earlier this year.

I own an Ather from last 2 years, and it's flawless. You will love it when you use it over a period. Only thing I don't like is the support dealer network, better to find a good dealer while planing to purchase. I feel the top varient is the paisa wosul varient.

The screen goes off even in ather and the update happens on its own so at those times, you wont get to see the screen. in the past 14 months it happened about 4-5 times. but the good part is, even if the screen goes blank, the vehicle still works.

One major aspect of the Ather scooter that I found less appealing is the splash-back from the rear tire. On wet roads, the person sitting behind on the vehicle often gets splashed by water coming up from the back, which can be quite inconvenient.

As TechWiser, you should know that the range you get in Ather does not depend on the mode but how you ride it. Mode just enables power and top speed and considers that you'll ride in the max possible power and shows you the range. Try same style everyday riding in Sports or Warp you'll still get range of Ride.

Driving ola from the last 2.5 years... Drive around 23, 000 km....bugs are there, sometimes the screen does not work, when we enter the number key to unlock it's not responsive. We have not faced any major issues till date. The scooter is working fine, no problem at all..

I own both the Ather 450x gen 3 and Ola s1 pro gen 2. Ather has better build quality, service, and ease of use. Ola has better range. Easily 20+kms compared to Ather

Bhavish knows how to hype things and get the required attention for his brand
On the other hand ather focuses silently on building the best product ( no copy paste )
True innovators 👍

Ola costs less, has more features, more range and bigger motor while still costs less than Ather.
Ather has reliability but they are expensive, also they sell through third party dealers who force battery pro subscription and try to extract extra money during service.

If only Ola could get their service network sorted, they'll become Maruti of EV two wheelers. Plus their own cell manufacturing will give them even more cost advantage.
