This is one of many videos, showing and highlighting the new features of FS25. This is by no means the ONLY new feature of the game. This is also NOT the only thing that GIANTS have been working. This particular video was showing the twister.

Have to say im a bit underwhelmed by the twister, i think other weather affects such as lightening or wet patches in fields due to heavy rain would have been far more immersive

I appreciate you showing us this footage, MrSealyP! I'm not usually one to be critical of FS but I think this is one of those times when I need to be. On one hand I like the crop damage and the broken trees, I love the concept of weather events that will cause damage and interrupt farming in some way like real life even if not 100% accurate, I appreciate that this is still classified as a "work in progress" too but on the other hand I really hope this going to get a lot of work done before launch because in it's current state it feels like a woefully unfinished feature to me!

The fact that it ONLY affects crops and trees seems like a massive oversight to me. If it's going to destroy crops then at the very least there should be some damage to grass too, even if it's just knocking back a growth stage in places or leaving dirt patches near the center of the twister. Considering the damage to trees I'm left wondering where the rest of the tree has gone, there should be some kind of debris left behind in terms of broken logs and branches. Even if bits of tree aren't physically thrown around surely they could add different animations into the twister when trees are damaged to show tree bits swirling in the winds then spawn broken logs around the outer area after a few seconds. Fence sections could do with being blown down too, or at least removed to simulate damage to them.

The lack of high wind effects on trees, grass, crops, vehicles / exhausts and especially the player is somewhat concerning too. To be able to walk into the centre of the thing was laughably bad to me, I know it's a family friendly game and nothing "bad" is supposed to happen but the least they could do is add some kind of cartoon style catapulting of the player away from the twister if you get too close or even just have it push you backwards a short way if you try to run into it. The same with vehicles, sure it's not going to throw them around but maybe some kind of shaking or rocking side to side from the wind would go a long way.

To be honest if this is anywhere near the final version I'd rather just have a warning siren go off with instructions to seek shelter and have a cutscene play after a short period that shows a bit of generated twister footage and skips you to the next gameday while it calculates damage to crops, grass and trees, moves or tips vehicles, bales, etc and you spawns you back at your sleep trigger once it's cleared so you can go out and inspect the damage.

And after all that what I will say is this, so long as I can turn it on / off that's fine with me. 😁 I do seriously hope it sees a lot of improvement though between now and release!

I was actually looking forward to having Twisters/Tornados in game as a new weather system feature but after seeing this I’m a bit disappointed, I know it’s still a “work in progress” but the lack of impact the Twister had other than the crop itself is a bit concerning i mean no grass damage no damage to bushes, even if they make it so it causes vehicle damage

It is an interesting first try, but I don't think they actually know how tornadoes work. They do not move that slow. I grew up in tornado alley in the US and never seen one that acted even close to that. They need to do a lot more work to make this viable in my opinion.

I don’t know. It’s like… I don’t mind the idea. I don’t mind that they WANTED to implement tornados. But I feel like they either needed to go all the way with it (i.e full destruction including vehicles, foliage/environment reacting to the wind, etc) or don’t implement it at all. This just feels half baked and goofy to have tornados appear on the map, but the environment doesn’t react to it at all. You can literally just keep on farming directly through a tornado without anything really happening. Just seems silly.

One of the first farming games I ever played, believe it was called “John Deere American Farmer” It had Hail and Wind damage that randomly occurred. It really made for a satisfactory harvest if you were able to avoid the weather.

While the idea within FS 25 seems to be about the same. The effect of the tornado looks a bit strange to me. We need Ryan Hall to help giants design this element 😂

The game looks brilliant can't wait for it but this. Why? If your going to do extreme weather do it properly thunder, lightning, extreme heat, floods etc all of these could have effected crops in natural ways. Dont just add some half arsed twister. Glad its not just me who thinks that looks shocking

That giant salad spinner needs a women riding a bicycle turning into a witch riding a broom - at least on a Kansas map. It's one of the features that will get old fast and turned off

I love it I recon it's good idea having twister in but I wish it can damage houses and buildings that's what I don't like and pick equipment

It feels like wasted resources. I wish that we got stuck in the mud mechanic (like in snowrunner) and rain affecting soil, instead of tornados.

WTF. So many things could be improved in the game and you give us this crap. Giants have lost the plot.

Personally i think they should have had a questionnaire to see what could have been added to the game instead of what they feel. I feel they could have ground texture, hedge cutting where you can actually cut hedges as a contract or on your own land, track/road maintenance down to fields or gateways, barns/buildings been restored. Just some of the ideas that would make it more interesting as it has just become vanilla now. Modders have made better things and maps but again its my opinion. It has so much potential to be great. Cattle and crops have better ground features even though i haven't played it but seeing some videos shows where its went. I think tractor engine sounds need to be addressed as most sound the same now. So many things can be altered and changed but hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.

I love it I am however a little surprised let the tractor was not picked up in the twister and thrown because that's the sort of thing that twisters do nevertheless I am impressed because it's something new it's something that we haven't had before and I should be ordering in a couple of weeks really excited about 25 I have other simulation games but farming simulator and train Sim world are the only two that I play now
