In terms of Jane's "Unknown" faction, I'm pretty sure she's just going to be part of N.E.P.S. In the official faction trailers she was shown on the same line-up with the rest of the NEPS, and the update is called UNDERCOVER R&B, so it really isn't too much of a stretch to figure out that Jane is actually just part of NEPS but undercover with the gangs.

I think it's pretty obvious that like PF/MOC in HSR, Shiyu mechanics will rotate to fit the characters on the current banner to incentivize people to roll. You should not expect it to be forever stun centric, and you can safely bet we will have an anomaly shiyu cycle around Jane's release.
And like in HSR, you will benefit from diversifying your teams (a stun team, an anomaly team, and whatever else they come up with) to clear the rotating content.
Of course you can still brute force it if you don't have the specific team comp, but it'll probably feel pretty bad (like not having a FUA team in HSR when the bonus mechanics is FUA centric, same thing for break teams or dot teams).

i think it’s important to point out that even if they directly “powercreep” a-rank characters or the standard characters by releasing the same element/combat type, the additional abilities of each character still helps them create a niche where they belong. piper will still be really good because she can be played with lucy, and future units from their faction. anby is still okay because of nicole as they create a nice combo. it’s a smart design for hoyo to make.

Gonna be real, I kinda wanna go in for Jane. Not because I want Jane but because I want Seth. The Parry -> quick assist back to primary unit function was an absolute BLAST

I would personally say that if you have Grace, Jane Doe's value skyrockets since Shock Disorder is incredibly powerful at this point of the game. Disorder teams don't require stunners and are quite more universal (in terms of damage type) than looking for on-element crit teams, since Shiyu is an element check at the moment.
Yes, DPS characters are prone to getting powercrept, but if you want to clear more content now then Qingyi is a better pull on her rerun.

I'm definitely going to pull for Qingyi. I enjoyed the dynamic her and Zhu Yuan had, and I don't have any other limited 5* stunner. I have a1 Grace, Grace's w-engine and Nekomata so far from the standard banner, and got and love Zhu Yuan... so Qingyi is a no-brainer.

That said, I love me some DoTs and status effects. Jane Doe is very interesting and I would love for Hoyo to offer more incentive to play non crit-based DPS, since that's always more interesting to me.

Jane Doe + Nekomata will be insane, with the amount of assault you'll be throwing out, and how fast they'll be doing damage. And since flinch is built into assault, your need for a stunner is significantly lower so anyone can fill that third slot. I can't wait. Plus JD got that gyatt

I thought Jane mechanic looks more interesting so I will pull her instead of Qingyi. It is nice to clear the end game content but it’s ok if I can’t. So, better to pull character that I like.

For anyone that pulled Zhu Yuan Qingyi is probably the best choice and will be big upgrade compared to Anby. Anby has very bad Mindscapes. Anyone who has Lycaon can check how big gap is between him and Anby on higher diffculties and Qingyi will be even better than him for Zhu Yuan.

You share my thoughts. Qingyi's role as a Stun agent vastly outweighs Jane's damage output, as I only have one Anby and no other Stunners.

... I also like her style. And art. I wouldn't mind getting bonked with her Cerberus stick any time 😉

What if I have lycaon and koleda but also have Zhu yuan. Would it still be worth it to get Qinqyi
