Rekkles LEAVING G2? Carlos Says 'Fake News'

After signing Rekkles to a huge deal and making him the face of G2 less than a year ago, the League Of Legends super star and the esports org are set to part ways aftering failing to make Worlds.
The relationship between LEC legend Rekkles and G2 has apparently deteriorated so badly that two will be parting ways after failing to make worlds, with Rekkles even declining to represent G2 at the World Championship group draw show last week. And now, G2 appears to have agreed to a transfer or sale of Rekkles contract, and rebuild around Caps and Jankos.
Rekkles had become the face of the G2 LEC team and the G2 brand as a whole, being featured all over their huge Ralph Lauren partnership, so the two parting ways after less than a year is wild. Reports state that G2 has already begun to trial ADC’s to replace Rekkles, and that Vitality is strongly interested in signing him.
So from one of the biggest signings in League of Legends history to out the door at G2 in less than one year and failing to make Worlds, will the Rekkles and G2 deal go down as one of the biggest busts in esports history? It definitely did not end the way either Carlos or Rekkles had hoped, but we suspect both parties will bounce back strong next season.
