You probably had enough time to restart at least one engine. Also how do you land without getting the 'SPLASH' message?

The trick is to land just above stall speed with no flaps and to keep your elevator up the entire time.

Why didn't you fly back to the airport ? Your speed was above 150 knots( =V2). That is the safety speed, the speed when it is safe to fly on one engine. I think that you could have made it to the airport if you pitched back down slowly and if you pushed full throttle. Then you could turn back slowly.
