Americans: 2500 football fields per hour

It’s crazy to think that f1 drivers can turn when going as fast as this plane starts to elevate.

The sound of the engines powering up is pure eargasm

Taking off is my favorite part of flying. I always imagine being in a dragster and feeling the acceleration.

It's amazing - the engineering that goes into these powerful beauties that can thrust you 500+ mph, while her engines roar and the wings flex, and at the same time, give the passengers the gentle comfort to do something like this. 😁 ☕ ✈️

The comment section has many Americans not understanding there is a speed unit called kilometer per hour.
Edit: I'm famous now

Vr in a 737 (rotation speed) is about 145 KIAS (knots, indicated airspeed). That equates to about 268 kmh. It looks like your plane rotated at about 259. It’s likely you had a headwind (as planes always try to take off into a headwind) and your takeoff ground speed was a little lower.

I remember one time I had my truck GPS on my carry-on. I took it out and turned it on. We were cruising along and I had the icon of the truck just off the side of the highway we must’ve been over and the indication was 479 mph.

Thank you so much, one of the best aviation post I’ve seen in a while.

It’s not always the same, it depends on fuel, passengers, luggage, winds, packs (on or off), takeoff thrust, flaps etc.

Fun fact: The Boeing 737’s engines buzz because the blades in the fan of the engine are moving faster than the speed of sound! Cool right?

The feeling of leaving the ground is pretty fun!
