The magnificence of this. I get emotional every time I watch Brian on that roof. Only someone as great as Brian could pull it off. X

Time waits for no one, certainly. I was on the Mall, and I remember this day was such glorious and optimistic one, like the sunshine breaking upon a world forever changed thanks to the previous year. Concorde's appearance competes with this beautifully eccentric and wholesome few minutes, but there's a reason why people remember Sir Brian here so vividly.
This day is closer, in fact half the timespan from Freddie's death, as we are today from this Jubilee day. Eleven years to a respective twenty two. It's sobering, and can leave us wistful and forlorn, but I think more importantly, immensely proud, inspired by, and in admiration of two great institutions that have unified us in both music and duty.
I like to think Freddie would have found this instance outrageously over the top, camply british, and wonderfully fitting.

It was very nice of Brian May to invite Elizabeth II to his concert.

Woo Hoo!
And there I am, one of 4 people on the grass at the very bottom of the screen at 2.23, watching him with my own eyes and hearing the output from his amps and not on the screen and from the speakers in the 'arena'.
My own private little gig :-)
What a great day that was!
Shame the BBC only recorded the broadcast and McCartney's final song was lost to the mists of time.

Such a great historical moment! Brian May on the roof 2002 performing God Save The Queen LIVE! 27years later than the studio version! The greatest guitarist on this planet! The other performances are great too there! Thank you Brian, I LOVE you! アリガトウ!

Thank you so much for featuring this moment! It's always been my favorite guitar solo ever. It took courage to be there, and our beautiful Dr.May did an amazing job of making history that day!
