Love your videos, Jeremy. Question for you: Baez, Devers, and Franco (Julio) are all tipping their barrel (somewhat dramatically) toward the pitcher at heel plant (launch position, as many call it). This is unorthodox, to be sure, and it flies directly in the face of what you’re advocating here (barrel behind and splitting head), but it’s definitely a source of power for them because it gives them more of a runway for that “running start” to build bat speed. I know many traditionalists pooh-pooh this as setting oneself up for having a “long swing” and being unable to catch up to a high-level fastball, etc. (which I personally think is BS, so long as you start early enough and use it properly), but, that said, I’m curious as to your thoughts on the pros/cons of this type of extreme bat tip (and maybe even more conventional forward bat tips like Bonds and Cano [and even Ruth and Williams] use).

Can u explain scap load further. Is it done with the top hand pulling back and back elbow or it done with both hands pulling back. Also when u swing is it done with back elbow and top hand and your bottom hand is along for the ride?

Great stuff! One of the issues I have is my back foot kicking out from behind as I make contact. My guess is my weight is going too forward, not quite a lunge, but something to that effect. It does seem to affect my follow-through, which I'm also guessing is why I'm not getting a lot of power. Any ideas on how I can better control that back foot?
