Number 4 is an unlucky number in Chinese culture and considering how much of the cultural spirit they put into these films...its like practically inviting that negative mojo.

The worst part is that co-director Stephanie Stine had a ton of great ideas, but everybody, including the director, treated her like a nobody and kept "dumbing down" the film, such as insisting that children wouldn't want to watch a long movie or that the villain didn't need a backstory. If the movie isn't worse, it's probably because of the influence she still had.
