LYSINE! Gets rid of it every time for me! If I'm able to notice the tingling sensation before the cold sore blossoms (for lack of better words) and start taking lysine supplements right away it doesn't stand a chance. I feel so fortunate to know this because it's helped save me from some incredibly embarrassing moments.

Zinc oxide … get a tube of pure zinc oxide … when you feel a sensation put a ample layer on … wear it for at least 30 minutes …longer is better and overnight if you get it near evening … you won’t have a sore at all if you put it on as soon as you feel a sensation … otherwise your sore heals quicker 💋

Agree, Valtrex as soon as you feel the tingle and it shouldn’t even surface.

I take 3000mg of Lysine every day and I rarely get them anymore. If I do feel one coming I will take 4000mg (2 in the am 2 in the pm). The sore doesn't blister and it clears up within a couple of days

I get it on my nose. Mostly when fighting other infection, stress or menstrual rollercoaster. So annoying.

Word of caution covering a cold sore with a patch. For me, it makes it worse as it’s keeping it moist, especially in the oozing stage as it causes mine to spread.

guys, what really worked for me was lysine supplements. it made my cold sores (which I had been treating for like 2 days with expensive ass topical medication) go away overnight. it works!!!

‼️‼️I’ve been a stress ball over the last few months and I’ve gotten one cold sore after another. What has saved me are those darn patches… Genius! I learned this from Wayne Goss who mentioned using them in a video last year, and it was a lightbulb moment for me! I take Valtrex upon the tingle sensation - then I use the patch and they have been reduced by half the time it used to take them to heal. ‼️‼️

my dad gave it to me when I was a kid (his defense he didn't know, it was in the 70s). I find if I use the quantum lysine lip balm it helps to keep them at bay unless I am very stressed, I might get 1 a year now.

I got an ocular herpes in 2020 due to the stress thanks to the pandemic. Last time I had herpes was in 2014, from a job interview that went on for 24 hrs.

Ocular herpes is the worse. I nearly went blind...I was blind for 2 days.

I get confused with canker sores and cold sores. I’ve never had an out break on my outer lips but only inside, which looks completely different. I use to get them as a little girl like crazy I couldn’t eat . I’m assuming those are not herpes related? Would you be able to explain? I’m confused.

Will Valtrex still help even if you are day 2-3-4 into the cold sore stage? Or does it only work at the first tingle?

Has anyone else noticed that the over the counter commercials for cold sore treatment only feature women. Men get them too. So sexist.

I use alcohol to dry it up and it goes away in a few days

. I’ve had coldsores since I was a kid always on picture day 😒. Then came lasers to treat it, Thought that was amazing until I discovered valtrex. !
