How To Rake | Slide Guitar Lesson

In this video, we go through the basics of raking. It's a very useful technique for building solos--it allows you to build up the energy of a solo while being tasteful with your phrasing. Shredding consecutive notes without rests is great for keeping the energy up, but it's good to have other options.

Once you get these raking techniques down, you can practice using them together to fill the space between your phrases.

Question when you rake for the 1st string do you still just hit 6th 5th and 4th string and rest your thumb
