Tammy Guitar Lesson 7: Finger Stretches, Songwriting, Improvising, Major Scales... and more fun!

In Tammy's 7th lesson with me, we check in on her finger stretching exercise, major scale practice, playing in the key of C and improvising, finding the notes on the neck and also discuss songwriting - how to get a song out of an idea!

It's nearly all 100% free and card details are not needed to register. You have everything to gain, and nothing to lose! My theory course is the best on the web (and one of the very few paid parts of the site) and it's awesome - if your theory is lacking and you wanna fix it - that's the place to go! At my store, you'll find a huge range of super cool guitar themed t-shirts, all my (paper) books, merch and lots more 🙂 and we got proper fun backing tracks for you to jam along with too!

What great teacher Justin is. Feels like he know what we are thinking and spells it out. He is such humble yet immensely talented communicator.

There are a million people that can play well, but can't teach at all. Justin is patient and makes sure she feels like it was fun and accomplished something. Great teacher.

"I don't want you to think you only can play stuff if you know what it is." BINGO It's been really scary for me to try sliding open shapes up the neck because I can't name them, but these things I can't name are so much more complex and beautiful than the ones I can name! Thanks for summing it up so nicely!

Love it. I can remember starting where Tammy is and almost wanting to give up. guitar is challenging to learn and takes a lot of time and effort and pain. It all depends on how much you want it. Thanks Justin. Thanks Tammy. Yes, in beginning its very horrible.

Great to see you’re still progressing and keen to learn Tammy. If you ever needed any inspiration for spending time on the alternate picking, watching some Molly Tuttle videos might do the trick. She’s an insane flat picking folk artist
