What do you think about the revised origin for Absolute Superman?

Can we talk about how sweet it is that the Kents were just worried about each other and are grateful to Clark for making it a nice transition for them. Very Superman.

The Absolute Universe has pulled me back into comics. I have purchased every Absolute universe comic since Absolute Batman #1.

I always said that Ra's al Ghul works better as a multi hero threat then just a Batman villain.

I'm hoping for a lovecraftian absolute Aquaman right now.

For issue 5, I like that we get to see a flashback of Kal-El and his parents saving the people of Kryton from what’s going to happen to them before they all witnessed Krypton’s destruction, resulted in Sol saving a lot of Kryptonians from harm, a lot of surviving Kryptonians being split from each other and sent somewhere in space, and Kal being alone and arriving on Earth before we not get to see him defeat the Peacemakers and tell Sol that he’s afraid of what’s going to happen to him if he encounters Christopher Smith. Also, final page of him going to Smallville, where (in the next issue) we will see a flashback of him being raised by the Kents. Overall, this comic is great!

For issue 6, I like that we get to see a flashback of Kal-El arriving on Earth (after spending a year, five months, and two weeks in space), where he was raised by the Kents and helped them with their farm work (in which it has reminded of his time on Kryton) before he encountered the Lazarus Corp. Also, this comic ending with Lois traveling to a senior center to find Martha Kent and Ra’s Al Ghul wanting to meet Kal-El, since he’s responsible for Lazarus and that he’s going to be Kal’s own General Zod. Overall, this comic is great!

Making his Kryptonian parents farmers was such an interesting idea. He didn't have to be raised by the Kent's he just had to spend some very formative months after a prolonged tragedy to form a bond with them and by extension all humanity. Being fully aware and old enough to even begin to process the loss of Krypton means he needed to already have a world view which he then gets to work through as a young man rather than live a childhood in peace and keep butting up against it as an adult.

I'm enjoying the Absolute universe. The enemy is mostly just capitalism, the bad choices of our fellow man and the abuse of power of the elite. Very telling for today, but we still get to see our heroes be heroes. They may have a harder edge and be a little more extreme, but they're hitting an excellent sweet spot of real world influence with over the top badass comic stuff we love to see and the modern sensibility in story telling to do a lot of character work very quickly.

Not sure why some people are complaining about the whole kent thing, that's what this whole absolute universe is meant to be, changing up what we know about these characters, if you want the traditional version then stick to the main universe, personally I'm loving and reading all the absolute books and really hoping we get more.

For example, Absolute Justice League, Absolute Aquaman, Absolute Green Arrow to just name a few that would love to see

Yup, it's definitely time I start reading the Absolute universe series. Thanks for covering this.

Absolute feels like a true "reboot" of these beloved characters. It's not just a superficial rehashing of the same origins like New 52 and other "reboots". Each character is absolutely FASCINATING to follow!

But I wonder if there will be an Absolute Lex Luthor? The choice of Ra's Al Ghul was... interesting. Even Absolute Batman didn't go SO off-script as to not have an Absolute Joker!

Thanks Variant. PS>> I would not have guessed that part about Lazarus Corp being connected to Ra Al Ghoul either.

Man this has been my new favorite Superman series and I love the idea of Ra’s al Ghul being a Superman villain can’t wait to see more from this series also can’t wait to see what they will be doing with Lex Luthor in the Absolute Universe.

Loved the Easter eggs throughout the show as well.

1. The Task force uniforms are clearly from Captain Commando.

2. The President Saying, dealing with Bio-engineered weapons and Dante dealing with a Raccoon City job.

3. The MegaMan bobblehead in the truck.
