We Built an Umbrel Bitcoin Node!

Building and running a Bitcoin node has never been easier. Hosting your own personal copy of the blockchain is a great way to not only learn about and use bitcoin, but also a major boost to your privacy and security. Umbrel is new open-source software that is absolutely changing the game, and we wanted to show you just how easy it is to build one yourself.

In today's video, we build the bitcoin and bitcoin lightning node from opening the boxes to full sync on the blockchain. We had some troubleshooting from lack of reading instructions, but those can be avoided by watching the video.

Does the bitcoin node mine any coins? Or is the GPU not fast enough

Can you use a regular 1TB external SSD hard drive? Or does it have to be an internal hard drive inside a case adapting it to USB?

Does anybody make a pi 4 case that houses the SSD internally? I think the drive case slides off. And invest in a smaller screw driver set.

Is it safe to use that wallet umbrel created? Maybe only for lightning.
