Born and raised in Vermont. Some tips and information:
1. Stay at a Bed and Breakfast. (chose wisely)
2. There is more to Vermont than Burlington, Manchester, and Woodstock. Try visiting the Northeast Kingdom...you may see a moose or a bear in the road while driving.
3. Vermonters are SLOW drivers. (Vermont population is elderly)
4. Wildlife is EVERYWHERE. You may see a deer or two in a small downtown setting like Rutland.
5. You can do some skiing into June at some ski areas like Killington (ski in shorts!)
6. Vermonters are very friendly but standoffish.
7. Visit some old cemeteries, some graves date back older than our country!
8. Vermont was its own country before it became the 14th State after the 13 original colonies.
9. John Deere was born there!

Don’t forget Rhode Island! BTW there are milk shakes, Frappes and Cabinets similar but different. Also chowder- their is white, red and clear ( New England, New York (Portuguese) and Rhode Island respectively) and Clams in RI are quahogs and only purple shells are found in RI, the original wampum!

You may have made this video five years ago, but it is awesome and still accurate and relevant. When you were talking about driving 95 I thought I was gonna have to make a comment about massholes but you included it in your video.😂😂😂 I might also add that there are many dialects in New England. You have your Boston accent but you can tell somebody is from New Britain Connecticut, or if they’re from New Hampshire or Maine, or even Rhode Island by their accent.❤😂❤

I’m a Mainer and we use Ice cream in our milkshakes, that’s what a milkshake is for gods sake. In fact most places ask if want your milkshake thin thick or regular

Went to college in Boston, best town ever! ❤. But, if you want to live here be prepared to pay a high premium for homes but it’s worth it.

A "New England Shield"? That's not very accurate. A New England native who has lived in NYC for about 6 yrs in my life, I gotta tell you that most people from NY or NJ have that detached attitude that you rarely ever see in New England. What we ARE is wary of people coming up from those states who treat us like we're Disney workers in their vacationland. Too many people from NY and NJ who park where they want despite signs indicating not to, rather imperious attitudes when in our restaurants and museums or just dealing with locals in general. What we are is exhausted with people who lack basic social skills outside of their immediate friends-circle. But we all try to be immediately approachable should someone "from away" asks questions or appear to be lost.

Note that in Rhode Island, if you want ice cream in your milkshake you have to order a Cabinet. As a kid when we lived there I got upset at getting chocolate milk when I ordered a Milkshake and asked finally.

You should have Brass Bonanza playing while stating Don’t #16 - going to go listen to that now :)

About the local food- in Maine, don't order an Italian expecting a sub sandwich with Italian meats and cheeses. It's worth trying all the same (Maine Italians are so good!), but Maine Italians are *vastly* different from other states.
Learned this the hard way when ordering an "Italian" while in Virginia.

Mystic!! Did you eat ice cream on the bridge, and watch it lift for the boatssailing up the river?

No, you won't see Yankee hats all over New England; except Western Connecticut and on the heads of tourists. Most of your other comments are great.

Native NH here. Connecticut is NOT part of New England. It is a suburb of NYC. True New Englanders don't support any team from NY.
