good heads iv been using a couple theyre cheap enough to use on your light stands .. i use monster telephotos so use promediagear bs1 .. chunky h e a v y .but stands out because of the rubberless huge locking knob sometimes rubber especially on smaller knobs stretch and slip eventually ... but these neewer are great ballheads with buttery smoothe panning

The demonstrator said the unit has two knobs for locking the ball in place. Actually, only the large knob is for locking the ball in place. The smaller knob is for adjusting drag. Tighten it enough that even with the large knob loose, there is some resistance to moving the ball. Then the camera doesn't flop all over as you're trying to make a small position adjustment. He said it didn't come with instructions!
