Great advice. 12 step programs can work!! It’s worth a try if you’re out there struggling and you just not sure going to a meeting could be a real life changer… meetings are nonjudgemental ppl there are normal and relatable. Good luck

For anybody struggling with alcohol or addictions, and you are on the fence about seeking help or whether or not you are classified as an alcoholic or an addict. I would suggest going online and finding your nearest local 12 step meeting and he want to find one that is labeled for open and not closed. This just means we’ll be meeting welcomes anybody and everybody you did not have to identify as an alcoholic, whereas a close meeting you would have to identify as an alcoholic so if you were on the fence, this would be a good starting point and all you have to do is simply introduce your name at the beginning of the meeting and then sit there and listen the rest of the meeting by the end of that meeting you Will have a better understanding of the disease, a understanding of what it does in relation to your peers, and you will have solidified whether or not you classify as one yourself. I advocate for the self diagnosis of alcoholism as you know yourself best and you are the only one who truly knows your experiences in the damages. It has done to your life and the people involved in your life. By going to a meeting and listening you’ll hear your story over and over again in a different context from different people and you will know whether or not we should be there. Not only that but once you identify yourself as an alcoholic and you do you want to continue the path of recovery you’ll have a countless amount of people willing and able and ready to help so long as you are willing to put forth the effort to sustain recovery. Please, don’t be afraid of any stigma or outcomes or judgments. It is anonymous for a reason and you can access the help you need FOR FREE, and alongside people who know you, long before you know yourself. Give yourself a chance and feel free to reply if you need someone to talk with I will give
You my email or social links 🫶
