Donkeys are such smart creatures with deep emotions. They are definitely written off and discredited by society. Such a disservice to a wonderful loyal animal. Did you know that back in the day, farmers used to get donkeys to protect the other animals in their barnyard? Donkeys are very protective of their family. So while they might not be able to fight off an attack, they will definitely sound the alarm to the dogs and the farmers. And do you know why they they are called stubborn? It's because they have an amazing sense of self preservation. So where as a horse will potentially work himself to sickness or death, a donkey will not. They will put on the brakes and refuse to work past their limit... so smart! Love them so much!❤😊

I live in North Central Florida, surrounded by Equine estates dedicated to breeding and training thoroughbred race horses. Every single one of these farms will have several donkeys to protect their valuable stock from coyotes and stray dogs. I have two full size donkeys and wouldn’t change them for the world. 💕🥰💕🥰💕

I could feel the donkeys sadness missing his former owner. He looks to be out in a yard somewhere all by himself which is not good. I hope he gets lots of tlc at his new home to help him adjust. He looks very, very sweet and intelligent. I hope he is happy and well cared for. What a special boy.

I used to feed my donkey friend Lifesavers. He loved them. The first time I saw a baby donkey out in a field with its mother I had to turn around and hang out a bit and take some photographs. So amazing!
