When I was a little kid, one of babysitters told me this story:

A nanny came over to babysit these two little boys one day and she asked if they wanted to make gingerbread cookies. She asked them to put a piece of their hair each into one cookie, and then decorate it to look like them. “It will make the cookie more personal” she said. The boys really liked the cookies, so the nanny suggested they should make ones of their whole class. So, the next day, they collected hair from their classmates and showed them to the nanny. After the cookies were baked, the boys decided to keep them, and use them like dolls. An arm fell off the cookie of a girl from their class. The next day, when they went to school, the girl was missing. The teacher told them she was in the hospital because she’d broken her arm. The boys asked their nanny about it, but all she said was “I hope she feels better soon.” As the cookies began to get stale and fall apart, they noticed their class mates were getting sick, except for the students who’s cookie replicas had been eaten. When the boys got home, they quickly threw away all the cookies, too afraid to tell their parents. The nanny noticed, and suggested they make another batch of cookies. The boys agreed, but when she left the room, they made a cookie of her and hid it away. They tore the arms off the cookie, and they never saw her again.

I don’t know why this story never freaked me out when I was little, or why my baby sitter thought it was a good idea to tell it to me, but now I get to share it.
