Good show guys! I first heard about Chris Date 3 or 4 years ago and I really like his attitude toward theology. I  still have hope that he will change from Calvinism to traditionalism/Provisionism because he is a logical thinker and I feel he isn't too prideful to change his opinion on an issue.

It's a sad shame that Chris would be shut out of any church over this secondary issue. I've listened to several of his presentations and I always find his arguments very interesting and thought-provoking.

The bible says "the wages of sin is death." Therefore, even if God did instantly (even painlessly) annihilate the wicked, he would still be "repaying them according to their deeds."

I've always liked Chris Date. I'm on the fence on this issue too. But if I thought some people I know would see this comment, I might would have kept it to myself 😶

The Sumerian version of hell is Kur, or mountain. It was viewed as a more dull version of earthly life. "The Mesopotamian netherworld was neither a place of punishment nor reward. Rather, it was the only otherworldly destination for dead spirits whose bodies and graves or cult statues had received proper ritual care." It's interesting how the concept of hell has evolved over time.

Oh what's that, Braxton, Leighton's video was too long? You know there's a button on the screen that looks like an 11 that will pause the video for later?

I share his hellish view, but I wonder how he defines eternal punishment, does he just use the definition that it's final & the death is done with forever?
